Year-long fellowship in the Athenaeum’s Conservation Lab. Fellowship position includes photo documentation of before-and-after treatment; writing condition and proposed treatment reports, and executing said treatment; writing after-treatment reports for possible cleaning of soiled bindings; utilization of chemical treatments to stabilize deteriorating leather bindings; and repairing bindings from special and circulation collection in cloth and leather; design and construct protective enclosures for rare materials, such as four flaps, cloth clamshell boxes, trays and boxes for bookplate die cuts, woodblocks, and etched plates; and helped with exhibit set up.

Reinforced covers of paperbacks; sewed musical scores into pamphlet binders; Rebacked cloth and paper; built custom enclosures; reattached covers with folded back endsheets; tipped on loose pages and reinforced loose joints with paste; surface cleaned and colored match bookcloth and decorative papers. Documented before and after treatment and wrote treatment reports.
